Everything you need to know about the Sacred Temple, Ancient Ruin, new rod, and double enchantments.
The Ancient Jungle update replaces the old event content and expands the area around the Sacred Temple. If it’s your first time heading there, it can feel a bit confusing because the game doesn’t directly explain how to unlock doors or where things are located.
This guide walks through each step in the order you’ll naturally encounter them — from opening the temple all the way to the group Lochness event and the new Elemental Rod quest.
I’ve gone through this update several times now, and the main tip is: bring the Fish Radar if you haven’t already. It removes a lot of guesswork.
How to Open the Sacred Temple Door
1. Travel to Ancient Jungle Island
- Start at Fisherman Island.
- Head toward Kohana, then turn right to reach the Ancient Jungle.
- Walk forward from the docks and follow the lantern posts — they guide you straight to the Sacred Temple entrance.
You’ll see a sealed stone door here. To open it, you need four artifacts, each paired with a lever located somewhere around the island.
On the walls beside the temple entrance, you can see faint shapes of the four artifacts. These are hints to the shapes you’re looking for.
2. Finding Each Artifact & Lever
Turn on your Fish Radar — each artifact is caught by fishing in specific glowing areas.
| Artifact | Where to Fish | Where the Lever Is |
|---|---|---|
| Crescent | Cross the shallow pool in front of the temple and climb the right hill. Fish in the highlighted spot at the top. | Right beside the fishing spot. |
| Arrow | From the Crescent hill, walk along the outer edge toward the left side. Keep radar on; you’ll see the red-highlighted water. | Just behind the fishing area. |
| Diamond | Return to the temple entrance and face the wooden bridge. Head towards the larger rock formation behind it. Radar will show a purple fishing spot. | Nearby, on the slope behind the hill. |
| Hourglass Diamond | Go behind the temple building. Look for the gold/yellow radar highlight. | Next to the fishing spot. |
After fishing each artifact, place it into its matching slot and pull the lever next to it.
Once all four levers are activated, the Sacred Temple door opens.
Inside, you’ll find two paths: Crystalline Passage and the way to the Ancient Ruin, but one is level-locked.
How to Get to the Ancient Ruin
When you enter the temple:
- You’ll see a doorway marked Level 200+.
- If you meet the requirement, step through to reach an elevator leading down to the Crystalline Passage.
Follow the glowing crystals through the cave. Eventually, you’ll find a doorway that leads to the Ancient Ruin entrance.
Opening the Ancient Ruin Door
To open the ruin door, you must place four specific fish onto four platforms:
| Fish | Rarity | Where to Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Crocodile | Mythic | Underground Cellar (Ancient Jungle) |
| Goliath Tiger | Mythic | Underground Cellar |
| Freshwater Piranha | Rare | Underground Cellar |
| Sacred Guardian Squid | Legendary | Underground Cellar |
Once you’ve caught all four, return to the Ruin entrance and place each one on its pedestal.
This unlocks the Ancient Lochness event room.
Ancient Ruin Group Fishing Event
Inside the Ancient Ruin room, there’s a group event that starts every 4 hours.
- The event lasts 10 minutes
- Players work together to fish the Ancient Lochness Monster
- Higher player count = better odds
- After the timer ends, everyone is returned outside the Ruin
If you enjoy the Halloween raid event style, this works similarly.
How to Get the Elemental Rod
The Elemental Rod is a new progression rod tied to a quest chain inside the Underground Cellar, which is a hidden area.
Finding the Underground Cellar Entrance
- Go to Ancient Jungle Island
- From the docks, follow the shoreline to the right
- You’ll eventually reach a stone door — it only opens at night
- Enter once night falls and descend the stairs
There are platforms above green liquid — if you fall in, you’ll respawn at Fisherman Island and need to walk back, so take your time.
At the bottom, interact with the Element Quest Board.
Quest Requirements
To unlock the Elemental Rod, you need to:
- Own the Ghostfinn Rod
- Catch 1 Secret Fish in Ancient Jungle
- Catch 1 Secret Fish inside the Sacred Temple
- Create 3 Transcended Stones
After completing all steps, you’ll receive the Elemental Rod, which is currently the strongest rod available.
How to Add a Second Enchantment to Your Rod
You can now apply two enchantments to one fishing rod, but you’ll need to use the altar on Ancient Jungle Island.
Where the Altar Is
- From the temple entrance, look at the stairs on the left and right side walls
- Climb up either staircase to reach the altar platform
What You Need
Instead of Enchant Stones, this altar requires Transcended Stones.
To get Transcended Stones:
- Catch a Secret Fish
- Trade it to the Temple Guardian NPC next to the altar
It can take time, but a double-enchanted Elemental Rod is a major upgrade and worth the effort, especially for the Ruin event and future islands.
That’s Everything in the Ancient Jungle
Once you understand the artifact puzzle and realize the Underground Cellar only opens at night, the area becomes easy to navigate. The main long-term goals here are:
- Elemental Rod progression
- Group Lochness event participation
- Building up Transcended Stones for double enchants
