Fight in a School: Halloween Update & Omni Style Guide

Updated: April 3, 2026  ·  Reading time: ~4 min

This update adds a seasonal bundle and a new combat style that is already shaping the meta.

I’ve spent some time testing everything in both public and private servers, so this guide focuses on what’s actually worth getting, how to unlock the Omni Style efficiently, and where these items fit in real fights.

1. Halloween Bundle Overview

Fight in a School: Halloween Update & Omni Style Guide

The Halloween bundle introduces new weapon skins and stat variations. All items are cosmetic + stat-based, so they are usable in regular fights.

ItemTypeBase DamageCritical DamageNotes
Harvest EdgeShank1510Balanced and fast. Good for chase-down plays.
Halloween GlovesGloves1331High crit burst, but lower base damage makes it inconsistent if you’re not timing crit windows well.
Bone KnucklesKnuckles107Mostly cosmetic; easily outclassed by other knuckles.
Halloween BatBat1317Reliable and simple. Good reach-speed balance for open fights.

Personal Take:

The Halloween Gloves look great and land big crits, but their consistency depends heavily on your ability to time pressure. If you’re newer or prefer more neutral trading, the Halloween Bat ends up being the safest pick.

2. The Omni Style

The Omni Style

Stats (Approx.):

  • Speed: 1.2× (faster than most styles)
  • Base Damage: ~18.1
  • Critical Damage: ~16.5

The first thing I noticed is how light the movement feels. Omni swings quickly and recovers from actions faster than most styles.

In direct exchanges, the style rewards players who already understand spacing and whiff-punishing.

How to Unlock Omni Style

You unlock it by performing Heavy Attack KOs a certain number of times. Many players believe the requirement is 3,000, but the real value is slightly lower and may vary by server version. Regardless, the method remains the same:

Efficient Unlock Method

  1. Join a private server (to avoid being interrupted).
  2. Have a friend or alt account stand still.
  3. Use a bat or gloves to ensure your heavy attacks deal reliable finishing damage.
  4. Only the finishing hit must be heavy. Light → light → heavy works fine.

I unlocked it over a few sessions rather than one long grind. Doing this in bursts made it feel less repetitive.

3. How Omni Style Plays (In Practice)

What makes Omni strong is its ability to maintain pressure while still repositioning.

Here’s what I learned while using it consistently:

Strengths

  • Fast startup = you open combos more often.
  • Short recovery frames = mistakes are less punishable.
  • Pairs well with high-crit weapons (especially gloves and brass).

Weaknesses

  • Hit registration can be inconsistent in busy public servers.
  • Struggles against players who rely on pure parry timing.
  • Requires situational awareness—swinging continuously is punished by stronger styles.

When Omni Feels at Its Best

  • 1v1 duels where movement and reaction time matter.
  • Fights where you can stay close and apply pressure.
  • Chasing down opponents who rely on back-stepping or extended spacing.

4. Recommended Loadouts with Omni

WeaponWhy It Works
Halloween Gloves / Retro GlovesHigh crit synergy with Omni’s fast swing loop.
Bats (including Halloween Bat)Clean spacing tool and consistent damage.
Brass KnucklesQuick trades in close-range scrambles.

If your playstyle leans more defensive, the bat tends to feel more stable. Gloves reward a proactive, rhythm-based approach.

5. Practical Tips (Based on Actual Fights)

  • Don’t hold heavy attacks—tap them in rhythm with light chains.
  • Avoid swinging while stationary. Omni is strongest while moving.
  • Practice hit-confirming. Once you land one light hit, commit to your follow-through.
  • If hit registration feels off, adjust to slightly earlier inputs (Omni swings faster than most muscle memory expects).

Most players switching to Omni struggle because they try to play it like Duke or Weave. It rewards timing and pacing, not just speed.

6. Should You Unlock Omni?

If you enjoy high-tempo dueling and movement-based pressure:
Yes. Omni becomes a dependable main style once you adjust to its flow.

If you rely heavily on counter-parry or anchor-style spacing:
It may feel too light and less “anchored” compared to heavier styles.

Overall, after spending time with the update, my overall impression is that Omni is a well-designed, skill-rewarding style with a clear learning curve.

The Halloween items are mostly cosmetic exceptions, but the bat and gloves are genuinely usable depending on your preference.

If you’re upgrading your play, the Omni style is worth unlocking, as long as you’re prepared to practice movement-based pressure rather than raw damage trading.
